The Eastside Heritage Center produces original research and assists others with informational needs about various aspects of Eastside History. Services include:

Research Requests
EHC volunteers and staff field inquiries from individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies and make use of archives and individual knowledge to provide information on a variety of topics. A research fee may apply.

Photo Research
Upon request, and for a modest fee, EHC volunteers and staff can assemble photos from the collection that illustrate a wide range of topics. Photos can be delivered in various hard copy or electronic formats. Much of the photo collection can be viewed at www.kcsnapshots.org

Oral Histories
The Eastside Heritage Center has been steadily building its collection of oral history interviews and now has approximately 175 sessions on tape, and 75 sessions fully transcribed. A recently-received grant will allow transcriptions of eight to ten additional interviews. Individuals who have an interesting story to tell about the history of the Eastside are encouraged to participate.

Journey Stories – Birth Place
At the 2011 Bellevue Strawberry Festival in Crossroads Park, 70 people shared their “journey stories” with Eastside Heritage Center. We hope you enjoy this “Birth Place” segment, as an introduction to the diversity of stories collected. This video oral history project was made possible through the support of 4Culture, the City of Bellevue and Humanities Washington.

Pioneer Party
What was it like in a pioneer household before running water and supermarkets? Enjoy a pioneer party where participants will churn butter, pump water, grind coffee beans, roll play dough bread, wash and hang clothes, play pioneer games, and clean the rugs with a rug beater. Eastside Heritage Center staff will bring the appropriate materials to your home or party location and will stay the length of the event to assist with all the activities. Pioneer parties are recommended for ages 3-10.
Cost: $75 - $125, depending on size of group and length of party.
