Education Programs Coordinator

The Eastside Heritage Center (EHC) in Bellevue seeks an Education Programs Coordinator to develop, deliver and coordinate public educational programs for the EHC. This part-time staff position reports to the EHC Executive Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, development and execution of specific EHC public programs.  These include, but are not limited to:
    • EHC’s monthly Heritage Series (evening programs)
    • Fraser Cabin Heritage Programs
    • Winters House Heritage Teas
    • Magic Season Family Fireside Storytelling Event
  • Purchase, collect, organize, prepare and store needed materials to support the programs
  • Oversee program delivery (transportation of materials to and from sites, set-up and clean-up, deliver program).
  • Help to recruit and train volunteers and staff for program delivery
  • Assist with program marketing (e.g., writing program descriptions and distributing to appropriate sources)
  • Prepare and deliver reports related to each public program
  • Assist Education Coordinator to present class programs in Bellevue, Lake Washington and Issaquah school districts, as well as the EHC’s Senior Heritage Programs.
  • Interface with EHC staff, volunteers and Board Members, Bellevue Parks staff, and the general public.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Experience in the field of Education preferred.
  • Ability to work with people of all ages.
  • Ability to develop public programs.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Demonstrate good communication, writing, organizational and team-building skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher)
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license required. 
  • Must have a personal vehicle for transportation purposes

Hours and Compensation:

This position is part-time, average of 16 hours per week with flexible scheduling; weekends, weeknights, weekdays. Starting compensation is $14.00/hour, paid monthly
